School Immunization Reporting Intern

Oregon’s school immunization requirements help keep children and communities in Oregon healthy and safe. Clackamas County is responsible for ensuring that students at over 330 schools and child care facilities meet immunization requirements for their age and grade. Clackamas County Public Health is seeking two part-time undergraduate student interns to assist with reviewing and processing the annual reports submitted by each school and facility.

This position will leverage the tool of school immunization requirements to help promote on-time vaccination for Clackamas County children. Report review will ensure quality data that will inform decision-making at school, local, and state levels. Additionally, this process identifies students and schools that will be at risk during outbreaks of vaccine‑preventable disease.

The internship will provide a stipend of up to $500. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Final Final date to receive applications November 29th, 2026.

The intern will be primarily responsible for processing school immunization reports:

• Reviewing reports for accuracy and completion
• Entering report information into database
• Tracking status of reporting sites
• Preparing immunization records for nurse review
• Preparing student exclusion letters
• Contacting reporting sites when needed to obtain correct or complete report information.

Through this internship, the intern will gain experience in governmental public health operations, public health regulatory compliance work, data quality assurance, project management, and partner collaboration. The intern will gain a greater understanding of public health policies and their impact on vaccine‑preventable disease. In addition to experience with the immunization program, the internship will provide opportunities to learn about and observe other foundational public health programs.

16-25 hours/week, Monday-Thursday (Some flexibility around exact work schedule)
