Position: Engineering Instructor [Part-Time Faculty Pool]
Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire part-time Engineering Instructor faculty pool for available assignments during the academic year. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

1. Instructs students in a classroom with experience in digital electric circuit analysis/design.

2. Provides student contact before and after class and by telephone, video conferencing, scheduled meetings or email exchanges during office hours where facilities and schedules permit.

3. Prepares, distributes and utilizes instructional support materials, include course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate; incorporates the latest classroom technology when available and appropriate to instructional activities.

4. Structures classes and curriculum to correspond with the overall program objectives; prepares clear objectives for students for each course.

5. Understands, develops and provides a learning environment that supports diversity and incorporates sensitivity to diversity within the college community.

6. Responsible for classroom and departmental equipment and provides for the security of facilities and instructional materials as appropriate.

7. Understands and abides by college policies and regulations and other policies, procedures and materials as required by the college, departments or divisions.

8. Convenes classes on time and as scheduled.

9. Maintains evaluation and grading records for assigned students; enters grades and provides all necessary documentation for in completes within established college timelines and guidelines.

10. Ensures and emphasizes safe working and classroom conditions and practices.

11. May direct aides and work study students as assigned.

12. Understands and uses the college's computer system.

AUXILIARY

JOB FUNCTIONS:

May provide assistance to other department personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

* Master's degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent--Ph.D. students may qualify) or Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a related field plus a combination of relevant course and work experience.

* Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives and abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Evidence of ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.

* Demonstrated enthusiasm for helping students achieve their academic goals.

* Experience in analog electric circuit analysis/design, Solidworks, and/or MATLAB Programming.

* Teaching experience in academic and informal mentoring roles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility, including the use of step stools in order to retrieve archived materials. Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis such as papers, files, boxes, equipment, computers, etc.,

and rarely requires moving materials weighing over 25 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, monitor, projector, calculator, printer, and standard office equipment.
