Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire part-time Industrial Technology Instructor for available assignments during the academic year. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Instructs students in a classroom. Provides student contact before and after class and by telephone, video conferencing, scheduled meetings or email exchanges during office hours where facilities and schedules permit.
* Prepares, distributes and utilizes instructional support materials, include course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate; incorporates the latest classroom technology when available and appropriate to instructional activities.
* Structures classes and curriculum to correspond with the overall program objectives; prepares clear objectives for students for each course.
* Understands, develops and provides a learning environment that supports diversity and incorporates sensitivity to diversity within the college community.
* Responsible for classroom and departmental equipment and provides for the security of facilities and instructional materials as appropriate.
* Understands and abides by college policies and regulations and other policies, procedures and materials as required by the college, departments or divisions.
* Convenes classes on time and as scheduled.
* Maintains evaluation and grading records for assigned students; enters grades and provides all necessary documentation for in completes within established college timelines and guidelines.
* Ensures and emphasizes safe working and classroom conditions and practices.
* May direct aides and work study students as assigned.
* Understands and uses the college's computer system.
* Teach course in manufacturing technology to adult technical students; deliver lecture materials, lead discussions and assess learning.
* Provide hands-on laboratory exercises that support the textbook theory.
AUXILIARY
JOB FUNCTIONS:
* May provide assistance to other department personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to skillfully communicate in verbal, written and kinesthetic form.
* 3-years of recent industry experience in a manufacturing environment.
* A professional-level understanding of common manufacturing principles, graphical communications and related technical math.
* Ability to develop and teach lab learning activities using industrial-grade machinery and components. Basic computer skills including use of email, word processors and spreadsheets.
* The ability to communicate effectively as a teacher and to operate as an effective member of a team.
* Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives and abilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Formal degree in manufacturing technology or related field such as engineering or engineering technology.
* Completed apprenticeship.
Experience with Windows XP and MS Office suite
* Desire to work with adult learners from diverse backgrounds, possess above average patience and have an ability to nurture students.
