Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire one or more Ethnic Studies Instructor to teach courses in Ethnic Studies, Black Studies, Chican@/Latinx Studies, Native American Studies, and Asian & Pacific Islander Studies. This is a part-time, faculty, term-by-term, exempt, and non‑benefits‑eligible position. We are interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and candidates that may be from a less traditional background.

This is a part‑time faculty pool posting for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the academic year 2025‑2026 and reviewed based on department need. Job FunctionsWithin the first week of employment, the employee will be expected to:
- Convene classes on time, as scheduled, and instruct students in a classroom, lab, or other setting as appropriate.
- Prepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate.
- Structure classes and curriculum to correspond with the overall program objectives; prepare clear objectives for students for each course.
Within two weeks of employment, the employee will be expected to:
- Provide student contact before or after class or through telephone or email exchanges or office hours when facilities and schedules permit.
- Understand, develop and provide a learning environment that supports diversity and incorporates sensitivity to diversity within the college community.
- Ensure and emphasize safe working and classroom conditions and practices.
Within the first month of employment, the employee will be expected to:
- Incorporate the latest classroom technology when available and appropriate to instructional activities.
- Understand and abide by college policies and regulations and other policies, procedures and materials as required by the college, departments or divisions.
- Understand and use the college’s computer systems.
During the term of employment, the employee will be expected to:
- Maintain evaluation and grading records for assigned students; enter grades and provide all necessary documentation for in completes within established college timelines and guidelines.
- May provide assistance to other department personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
The following are combinations of education, training, and experience that will qualify a candidate for this position:
- Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies, Chican@/Latinx Studies, Indigenous Studies, Black Studies, API Studies, or Race/Nations/American Studies, or a Master’s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of twenty‑four (24) quarter credit hours of graduate level coursework in Ethnic Studies, Chican@/Latinx Studies, Indigenous Studies, Black Studies, API Studies.
- The ability to communicate effectively as a teacher and to operate as an effective member of a team.
