Structural​/Mechanical Inspector

We are searching for a Structural/Mechanical Inspector to join our team at the Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development. If selected for this position, you will be joining the Building Codes Division, a team responsible for administering the State of Oregon building, mechanical, fire alarm, sprinklers, and Clackamas County ordinances and regulations.

As a Structural/Mechanical Inspector in the Building Codes Division, your main focus will be inspecting building, mechanical, fire alarm and sprinkler systems for new projects and additions and alterations to existing buildings. You will have an opportunity to work on structures of unlimited size, type and complexity. In this role, you will also be responsible for the investigation of code violations and special inspection assignments, when required.

• Experience as a structural and mechanical inspector within a jurisdictional setting
• Experience conducting building and mechanical inspections, and writing clear and accurate inspection reports
• Completion of a recognized building inspection program, where building and mechanical code classes, inspection classes and training, and plan review were an integral part of the program
• Experience using Accela Automation or similar permitting software
• At least two (2) years of experience working in the construction industry
• State of Oregon Fire and Life Safety Plans Examiner certification (PEF) or International Code Council (ICC) Fire Plans Examiner certification (F3)
• State of Oregon A-level Structural Plans Examiner certification (PEA) or International Code Council (ICC) Building Plans Examiner certification (B3)
• State of Oregon Residential Plans Examiner certification (CAXS) or International Code Council (ICC) Residential Building Inspector certification (B1)
