Must have a vehicle for this assignment. Must have experience in child and adolescent psychiatric settings.
Description:
The position will float between units based on unit needs. No on-call requirements. Weekends are required, specifically every other weekend. Block scheduling is not required. Expected patient ratios are 1:5 and 1:10 on nights. The unit provides care for pediatric and adolescent patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises. Patients typically range in age from 6-17 years old. Adolescents are often admitted for acute suicidal ideation or attempt.
Staffing will include interdisciplinary support. The unit has a total of 20 beds. There is a focus on psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma-related disorders. Staff will utilize specific protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety. Floating to other facilities may be required based on staffing needs. It is common for travelers to float to other units based on their skill sets.
All hours worked while floating may come with additional incentives. Candidates should be prepared for transport protocols using specialized equipment. This role requires a commitment to working 3 of the 5 major holidays. Requests for time off must be made upfront and will not be considered post-submission.
