Position:
Child Support Case Manager – Entry (Oregon City)
Salary Range: $4,124 – $5,714 per month during the first year; $4,833 – $6,713 per month after successful completion of trial service.
Job DescriptionAs a Child Support Case Manager – Entry, you will review case documents, establish and enforce child support orders, and provide accurate accounting records for support obligations.
Responsibilities- Review case documents and records to determine need for a child support order.
- Contact agency customers and service providers to gather information for paternity establishment and support order enforcement.
- Establish, modify, enforce, and maintain accounting records for child support orders.
- Apply federal and state laws, rules, and agency policies and procedures.
- Verify payments are properly disbursed and accuracy of state agency claims against child support.
- Request, review, and evaluate paternity declarations to initiate action.
- Complete and file legal documents to establish paternity.
- Process modification requests.
- Gather wage and health‑care information, research and apply child‑support guidelines to calculate support obligation.
- Three (3) years of experience working with the public in person or by phone giving information about services and programs and solving customer problems/complaints.
- Experience with personal computers, web‑based applications, and Microsoft Office.
- Or a Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for the required experience.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive employment reference check, fingerprint‑based criminal background check, and, where applicable, a driver history check.
- Eligibility to meet the minimum qualifications for Child Support Case Manager after one year of successful trial service.
- Adaptability to changes in job processes and requirements.
- Skill in sorting through and analyzing large amounts of information.
- Professional experience communicating policies, rules, or laws to the public.
- Computer‑proficient with a clear ability to learn new systems and methods.
- Experience using various computer programs to view, enter, edit, and extract information.
- Ability to independently complete assignments on time.
- Ability to maintain professional composure, tact, and friendliness while working with potentially irate, hostile, or emotionally distraught individuals.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
