Accountant

Labor Works is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join our finance team in Portland, OR. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position within our Finance Department, with pay commensurate with experience.

About the Role
You will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulations.
• Support audits and tax filings by preparing required documentation.
• Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience of Daily Work in AP, AR, and General Ledger Reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics, the Business Microsoft Suite, and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
