Collections Specialist

Location: Deer Island

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Collections & AR Specialist to join our team on a long-term, hybrid contract basis in Deer Island, Oregon. This role will oversee accounts receivable collections across multiple entities, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances while maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and committed to strengthening processes that support overall financial performance. Key Responsibilities:

+ Review and analyze aged accounts receivable, focusing on balances exceeding 60 days past due.

+ Research historical transactions to reconcile and maintain accurate customer account records.

+ Process customer credit card payments securely and efficiently.

+ Prepare and distribute customer statements; respond promptly to invoice copy requests.

+ Partner with internal teams to enhance collections processes and improve financial reporting.

+ Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of AR balances.

+ Support audit preparation by maintaining organized and up-to-date accounts receivable documentation.

+ Evaluate and recommend improvements to AR reserve policies to better align with organizational objectives.

+ Utilize accounting systems, including Quick Books Desktop, to manage and report financial data effectively.

Requirements

+ Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

+ Minimum of two years of accounting or related professional experience.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP, strongly preferred.

+ Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

+ Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret and manage complex financial data.

+ Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism.

+ Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team setting.
