Store Office Clerk
$16.00 - $18.00

- Premium Pay increase of .50¢/hour for all eligible employees working any hours on Saturday-Sunday, and weekdays before 6 am, or after 7 pm
Perform office and administrative work in the areas of pricing and sign-making, vendor receiving and relations, banking, and warehouse communication. This position requires repeated traveling up and down stairs, as well as, being able to stand, walk, and crouch for long periods.
These tasks are important to the company because they contribute to correct item pricing, keeping in good relations with vendors, and providing others with the information they need to make decisions.
Essential Job Functions- Receive products from vendors and ensure pricing is correct by auditing invoices
- Create tags, print & hang tags, and identify pricing issues to maintain the integrity of store pricing.
- Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
- Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers.
- Answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages.
- Maintain full confidentiality in regard to all information in writing, verbal communication, and in all data transmission. All matters regarding proprietary information, business plans, personnel issues, or any other information discussed in the office are considered private and confidential.
Note:
Not maintaining full confidentiality will be considered a terminable offense. - Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders, and address complaints.
- Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.
- Lifting and moving boxes, trays, and other items during receiving. Sometimes up to 30 lbs.
- Occasionally open, sort, and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail.
- May review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Critical Thinking using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Mathematical Reasoning to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve problems.
- Writing effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience
- Problem Sensitivity to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem and informing the correct individuals.
