Job Description
The Estimator will be responsible for performing quantity takeoffs for concrete materials, labor, and equipment. They will read and outline project specifications and record data and information into an estimate template to determine the cost for labor, materials, subcontractors, and related items. The role includes procuring quotes from vendors and subcontractors, analyzing historical project data to assist in determining current project costs, and recording project data for future use.
The Estimator will participate in preconstruction handoff meetings with Project Managers, compare drawing revisions to quantify changes for updated bids and change orders, and participate in pre-bid job walks and site visits.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for concrete materials, labor, and equipment.
- Read and outline project specifications.
- Record data and information into an estimate template.
- Procure quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
- Analyze historical project data to determine current project costs.
- Record project data for future projects.
- Participate in preconstruction handoff meetings with Project Managers.
- Compare drawing revisions to quantify changes for updated bids and change orders.
- Participate in pre-bid job walks and site visits.
- Experience in construction, estimation, and bidding.
- Proficiency in estimating software and onscreen takeoff.
- Knowledge of concrete construction, construction drawings, and pricing.
- Ability to read and understand construction blueprints/drawings.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, and Tekla.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in construction management, with a preference for concrete projects.
- At least 1 year of experience estimating construction projects, with concrete knowledge as a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Familiarity with Procore, Onscreen Takeoff, and Bluebeam.
This is an in‑office position with limited site visits and job walks. The current estimating team consists of two other Estimators and a Project Coordinator. Permanent position based in Portland, OR. This is a fully onsite position.
Pay And BenefitsPay range: $80,000.00 – $ per year. Medical, dental, vision, PTO.
