Expanded Function Dental Assistant

Join our team as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support high-quality, equitable dental care within a community health organization. In this role, you will perform advanced clinical duties such as taking X-rays, assisting with procedures, periodontal care, and patient education, while ensuring infection control and sterilization protocols are followed. You will maintain patient records, prepare treatment materials, and assist with orthodontic tasks as needed.

High School Diploma or GED, Oregon EFDA certification within 90 days, BLS certification within 90 days, and bilingual (English/Spanish) at a high proficiency level. Candidates should possess strong manual dexterity, professional communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and knowledge of dental terminology and infection control.

• Maintain patient records and update medical history
• Perform X-rays and intraoral photographs
• Conduct periodontal charting and assist with exams
• Prepare instruments and materials for procedures
• Provide preventative and educational oral hygiene care
• Support infection control and sterilization protocols
• Assist with orthodontic procedures as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
