Contributing to the success of more than 217,000 students and well-being of 23,000 staff: a commitment at the heart of educational and public health policies.

Under the direct authority of the rector, the medical technical advisor is a strategic actor in academic governance. He/She provides his/her medical and public health expertise to the definition, implementation, and evaluation of the academic health policy in favor of students and staff.

Within the first overseas academy, this position offers the opportunity to lead projects with a strong impact, in close liaison with the state services, the Regional Health Agency of La Réunion, the territorial authorities, the health institutions, and all institutional partners.

In this capacity, the medical technical advisor:

• advises the rector on all matters related to student health, public health, and occupational health;

• participates in the definition of academic priorities in terms of prevention, health promotion, school inclusion, and child protection;

• represents the academy with regional bodies and partners involved in the health field;

• contributes to the development, monitoring, and evaluation of regional and academic health programs;

• supports the management of sensitive or crisis situations with a health, psychosocial, or medico-educational dimension;

• coordinates the activity of the medical service in favor of students and the prevention medicine service of staff;

• drives and leads continuous improvement initiatives, public health surveys, and evaluation actions;

• participates in the definition and implementation of the training policy of the academy's doctors and staff on health, prevention, and risk management issues.

The position requires the ability to evolve in a complex institutional environment, to build lasting partnerships, and to carry a strategic vision reconciling educational, health, and social issues.

This position is for an experienced doctor wishing to put his/her expertise at the service of a public policy with a strong societal and educational impact.

The recruited person has a solid public health culture as well as a recognized ability to advise decision-makers, to lead complex projects, and to animate partnership networks.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of public health issues, prevention, and health promotion.

• Knowledge of child and adolescent development.

• Knowledge of preventive medicine and occupational health issues.

• Mastery of the regulatory and ethical framework applicable to medical professions.

• Knowledge of public health policies and the organization of the health care system.

• Knowledge of the education system and its actors is appreciated.
