DescriptionSalary Pay Range: $/yr.

Essential Functions:
- Provides professional medical screening, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical clinic patients. Assesses physical, psychological and social needs of both patient and family.
- Recognizes office medical emergencies and coordinates treatment including facilitating EMS transfer when necessary.
- Provides routine medical care in the outpatient setting, including episodic care for acute medical problems as well as development and implementation of individual treatment plans for with chronic conditions.
- Interprets lab, EKG, oximetry, x-ray, and other studies and provides the patient with timely reports as to the findings, appropriate treatment, and options when available.
- Prescribes both pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological therapy tailored to the individual patient's health care needs.
- Promotes counseling services and initiates referrals when appropriate. Maintains dialogue with other health care professionals (dental, mental health, chemical dependency, etc.) to promote and facilitate comprehensive healthcare services.
- Performs minor surgical/invasive procedures including but not limited to: skin-biopsy- both superficial and deep, mole/skin tag destruction, cryotherapy, circumcision, IUD insertion/removal, endocervical biopsy/endometrial biopsy, venipuncture, IV starts,
- Makes appropriate outside referrals to other health professionals, agencies, and support groups within the financial guidelines of Contract Health Services and contracted insurance companies.
- Participates in after-hours call system shared by other GRHWC medical providers.
- Modifies plan of care with the patient/family to achieve optimal health in conjunction with established treatment protocols.
- Participates and provides insight in conjunction with clinical wellness programs as determined by administrative team.
- Provides public health education beyond patient visits which includes speaking at community events and writing for publications.
- Meets or exceeds the minimum professional requirements for annual CME.
- Serves as designated medical consultant to the Health Center Outpatient Chemical Dependency Program.
- Provides medical guidance and training including preparedness training for office emergencies and disasters.
- Attends and participates in various team meetings, assigned committees and activities within GRHWC i.e. quality assurance, therapeutic, triage.
- Maintains certification in BLS.
- Authorized to serve both eligible and non-eligible beneficiaries in an outreach capacity both on and off site.
- Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
- Requires a M.D. or D.O. degree, and license in the State of Oregon.
- Requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in practice, not including completion of required family practice residency. Experience working with Tribal or Public Health Clinics preferred.
- OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Driving Requirements:
- This position may require driving.

Certifications:
- Must be certified by the American Board of Family Practice or other physician specialty board for primary care medicine.
- Must be BLS certified.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Must respect all others regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or income level.
- Must be committed to providing comprehensive health care to the individual, family, and community.
- Must possess a strong knowledge base of medical conditions and treatments.
- Must be able to perform office procedures (including both invasive and non-invasive minor surgery).
- Must be able to complete patient visits and documentation in a reasonable amount of time (as determined by team-generated protocols).
- When required, will need to obtain appropriate medical consultation.
- Must maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
