Position Description
Faculty positions at Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, or In Residence series are available in the Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals (San Francisco and Oakland). Candidates will join a major academic medical center with an established fellowship training program.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical care for critically ill newborns at UCSF locations and affiliated sites.
- Engage in research, education, and quality improvement activities consistent with the department’s mission.
- Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in multidisciplinary clinical care teams.
- MD, DO, or equivalent degree, eligible for medical licensure in California.
- Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics and Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine.
- Completion of an ACGME‑accredited fellowship in Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine or equivalent training.
- Certification in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Evidence of scholarly activity, including peer‑reviewed publications, clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, or national conference presentations.
- Experience or interest in academic pediatrics such as curriculum development, leadership, or program building.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary care teams.
- Additional expertise or focus in areas such as neonatal transport, neurocritical care, palliative care, or global health.
Minimum base salary ranges:
- 51% effort or more: $114,100–$344,400 based on rank and step.
- 50% effort or less: $81,500–$246,000.
