Position Summary
The Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at The University of Kansas Medical Center provides high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care within our respiratory and sleep program. This position collaborates closely with ENT, neurology, psychiatry, and primary care colleagues. In addition, this role actively contributes to the education and training of learners, including Sleep and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellows, and participates in departmental and divisional academic activities.
Academic appointment commensurate with experience.
- Provide specialized clinical, educational, and/or research services within area of expertise using current, evidence-based practices and techniques.
- Deliver comprehensive services across inpatient and outpatient clinical settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams including ENT, neurology, psychiatry, and primary care to support patient care, program development, innovation, and scholarly activity.
- Contribute to the education, training, and mentorship of residents and fellows.
- Participate in departmental and divisional meetings, case conferences, teaching rounds, and academic activities as assigned.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain expertise in sleep medicine, including interpretation of sleep studies and PAP management.
- Education: MD, DO or equivalent. Completion of an Internal Medicine residency and a Sleep Medicine fellowship.
- Certifications/Licenses: Licensed or eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri;
Board certification/eligible in Sleep Medicine.
- Coverage begins on day one for health, dental, and vision insurance and includes health expense accounts with generous employer contributions if the employee participates in a qualifying health plan.
