Obstetrician

seeks a board-certified Obstetrician for locum tenens coverage at a clinic in John Day, OR. In this role, you will provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to diverse patients, including management of high-risk pregnancies in collaboration with clinic and hospital teams. Responsibilities include conducting exams, ordering and interpreting tests, performing deliveries, documenting care, and participating in call coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric care including prenatal visits, labor and delivery management, and postpartum follow-up in a clinic setting
• Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
• Manage high-risk pregnancies in coordination with clinic and hospital teams as needed
• Document all patient encounters accurately in the medical record and ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with nurses, mid-level providers, and support staff to deliver safe, patient-centered care
• Provide on-call coverage as scheduled for urgent obstetric needs
• Educate patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and family planning
• Adhere to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Communicate effectively with clinic leadership and Locum
• team regarding schedule, coverage, and patient care issues
• Participate in handoffs and care transitions to permanent or other locum providers
