Location: Dayton School District
Reports To: Building Principal
Work Year: 190 days
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Range$48,006 – $97,932 annually
(Based on the 2025–2026 Dayton Education Association Salary Schedule; placement determined by education and experience, subject to board approval)
Position SummaryThe Junior High / High School Teacher provides standards-aligned instruction and supports literacy development within and across content areas. This role focuses on teaching, assessing, and supporting student growth in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and academic language to ensure readiness for graduation and post-secondary pathways.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver effective secondary instruction
- Integrate and assess literacy skills within content areas
- Use data to guide instruction, intervention, and enrichment
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Valid Oregon Teaching License (TSPC)
- District-paid 6% employee PERS contribution
- OEBB medical, dental, and vision insurance (district contribution)
- Sick leave, personal leave, and other leave per the DEA agreement
