190 days per year; 7.33 hours per day
Salary: $49,535 – $94,383 (dependent on education and experience)
Job SummaryTeacher is the primary instructional delivery person in the classroom. Student achievement and growth depend on the teacher’s communication, interpersonal skills, content knowledge and teaching strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain appropriate licenses and training hours; multiple endorsements preferred.
- Comply with applicable district, state, local, and federal laws and regulations.
- Adhere to standards established by Teachers Standards and Practices Commissions for Competent and Ethical Educator.
- Attend work regularly.
- Use state and district adopted curriculum and goals; set instructional objectives and learning outcomes.
- Use current subject matter appropriate to individual students.
- Adjust instruction based on student growth patterns and time constraints.
- Select and use techniques conducive to student learning.
- Assess student progress; analyze data to refine instruction.
- Supervise students and assist colleagues in planning and evaluation.
- Manage classroom behavior; establish and maintain climate conducive to learning.
- Use district property, records, financial procedures appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with administrators, students, staff, parents, and patrons.
- Coordinate instructional assistants, volunteers, and support personnel.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and communicate student progress.
- Participate in school committees and report issues as required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and confidentiality.
- Fluent verbal and written communication in English.
- Basic arithmetic and ability to handle instructional materials.
- Proficiency with database, internet, e‑mail, word processing; ESIS, MS Word, Outlook, Excel preferred.
- Must hold a valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement and authorization;
Oregon Driver License and CPR/First Aid card preferred.
- Regular talking, hearing, walking, sitting, using hands for fine manipulation, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs.
- Lift up to 15 pounds routinely and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Close vision required.
- Standard school setting with office equipment.
- Noise level typically low to moderate; may be exposed to blood borne pathogens.
