North Marion School District is seeking a Community Liaison 2 - District Lead for the School Year. This role combines family outreach, resource coordination, interpretation and translation support to ensure access to educational opportunities, resources, and services that promote academic and social success. The position builds strong partnerships between schools, families, and community organizations to strengthen family engagement and connect students and families with needed supports and services.
In addition, the Community Liaison Lead works to identify, recruit, and support eligible migrant students and families, serving as the Migrant Recruiter for the school district.
- Locate, recruit, and certify eligible migrant children within the region.
- Verify eligibility data, maintain records, and complete reports in compliance with federal and state Migrant Education Program (MEP) requirements.
- Meet regularly with the WESD Migrant Education Coordinator to align efforts and share updates.
- Serve as the Community Liaison for Primary and Intermediate Schools.
- Support principals and building-level Community Liaisons to develop and recruit Spanish-speaking Parent Advisory Groups.
- Recruit and support the Migrant Parent Advisory Committee.
- Plan and implement Migrant/EL parent meetings in collaboration with district and WESD.
- Actively identify and connect families with appropriate community resources and services.
- Maintain detailed records/logs of students and families served and the resources provided.
- Provide interpreter support for families, including scheduling and coordinating services.
- Supply and inventory bilingual books and other educational resources to migrant students.
- Conduct home visits to engage with families and assess needs.
- Deliver food, clothing, and other essential resources to students and families.
- Manage and inventory the district's clothes closet with building-level Community Liaisons, including organizing and distributing donations.
- Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to assigned schedules and responsibilities.
- Attend district Community Outreach Advocate meetings and Service Integration Team meetings as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or degree in social services, education, or related field preferred).
- Successful completion of background and criminal history clearance.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish required to communicate effectively with migrant families and provide interpretation services.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to accurately verify and maintain confidential student and family eligibility records.
- Knowledge of migrant student needs, community resources, and outreach strategies.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, travel within the region, and build strong relationships with families and partner organizations.
