Job DescriptionEMPLOYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Harrisburg is located in the Mid-Willamette Valley between Eugene and Corvallis.
No experience needed! Harrisburg will provide training!
Position: Student Support Assistant, Harrisburg Elementary School
161 contract days per year;
Harrisburg operates on a 4-day school week, M-TH with some Fridays.
Paid CPI training provided. Applicants who prefer a part‑time schedule are also encouraged to apply.
Salary Range: $20.00 - $26.91 per hour, placement commensurate with experience and assignment.
BenefitsEmployer‑paid insurance CAP to assist with health, dental, and vision premiums, employer‑paid Basic Life and AD&D policies.
Two (2) days of personal leave, ten (10) days sick leave, seven (7) paid holidays, and PERS retirement contribution. Benefits prorated for the remainder of the school year.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required

- Educational assistants for Special Ed may be required to have knowledge of ADHD, autism, anger and behavior management, and physical health needs in children.
- Basic computer and office machine skills.
- Ability to assist the teacher with behavior management.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English, effectively present information and respond in one‑on‑one and small group situations to students and other school staff, verbally respond to common inquiries from students, read and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form.
- Work well with others from diverse backgrounds. Focused on solving conflict, maintaining confidentiality, listening to others, keeping emotions under control, and contributing to building a positive team spirit.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students successfully.
