Youth Development, Guidance Counselor: Social/Educational
The Southern Oregon ESD Focal Student Groups program seeks a Migrant Education Recruiter to join the team. This person will communicate with families and district staff in Jackson and Josephine Counties, have a workspace at the SOESD District Office in Phoenix, and also work in the community when meeting with families of community partners.
The primary role of this position is to identify and recruit students for the SOESD migrant education program and to inform families of services available to them to support academic success and nurture communication and understanding between families and school staff. This person travels in the community to meet potential migrant students and their families at their homes, schools, or places of work.
The person in this role must understand and be able to apply the technical program eligibility requirements and submit certificates of eligibility to the state database. Regularly scheduled required meetings and training are held to support the work. This person works closely with other SOESD Migrant Education staff to collaborate on shared projects and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
This person also attends Migrant Education parent meetings in schools and provides short presentations as requested.
After initial training, study, and support, this person must successfully pass the federal Migrant Education recruiter assessment and complete other requirements within X months of employment to continue in the position (3 or 4 months? whatever we deem reasonable).

Recruiter II POSITION GOALTo increase parent involvement by developing positive relationships between the school and the migrant families and to assist the families with understanding community resources and systems in order to empower them to overcome barriers to the migrant students' educational success. To provide ongoing recruitment support for Migrant staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAny equivalent combination of experience, certification and training/education, deemed by the district, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of this job may be used as an alternative to this prerequisite.

SALARYSouthern Oregon ESD Classified Salary
Schedule:
$17.97/hr.
- $21.50/hr. for the school year.
Program Administrator
SOESD Benefits (For .50 FTE and Over)- Southern Oregon ESD contributes up to $2,185.00 per month (family coverage) toward health, dental, and vision insurance premiums for qualified employees.
