Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM
Wages: $30.96 – $37.67 per hour wage schedule TBD)

PositionSummary
The Interpreter’s role is to facilitate communication and assist teachers in classroom routine (see Oregon Guidelines, Educational Interpreting for Students Who Are Deaf, spring 1991).
Job ScopeThis position functions under the direction of licensed educators and operates within established systems of student support. The work is somewhat recurring and routine, with occasional variations from the norm encouraged to be handled with innovative solutions. Final decisions are approved by a supervisor. The position has little to no planning responsibility beyond scheduling own work and determining impediments to the work schedule.
Education,Experience and Certification/License (Minimum Qualifications)
- Score of 3.5 or above on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) performance test, or hold RID NIC, CI, or CT Certification;
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree from an Interpreter Education Program or related educational field; or a passing score on the EIPA Written test;
- Reliable transportation;
- Standards of moral character as required of teachers (OAR 584‑005‑0005).
- 1–2 years experience working as an ASL interpreter in a K‑12 school district.
