General DescriptionIn alignment with the NWRESD's mission statement, this position assists students with disabilities to prepare for the workforce as they transition from high school to post‑high school life.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificates as determined by the District, including a valid driver's license and a type 20 certification or the ability to obtain a type 20 certification (the ESD will provide training and support). Available transportation and proof of auto insurance are required.
- Experience working with students with disabilities.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
- Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations.
- Confer regularly with immediate supervisor.
- Proficient in the use of computer and internet-based applications, including but not limited to email, internet software, Google Suite, and word processing (MS Word).
- Participate in activities related to the recruitment of potential clients.
- Assist the YTP/Pre-ETS team in determining Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) eligibility of applicants.
- Assist students in acquiring necessary transportation to keep appointments.
- Implement a system for disseminating YTP/Pre-ETS information to employers.
- Analyze work sites and match YTP/Pre-ETS clients to work sites.
- Maintain and update a system for tracking active and inactive employers.
- Provide structured training at community job sites consistent with each client's targeted vocational goals.
- Provide follow‑up support to students.
- Collect data as necessary to document students' progress on the job.
- Maintain an accurate case file on each YTP/Pre-ETS client.
- Participate in all team meetings as invited.
- Gather and organize information useful for transition planning.
- Provide one‑to‑one assistance to clients in the delivery of instruction for vocational, independent living, and personal/social content areas.
- Supervise and train students in student‑run enterprises.
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and customers at all organizational levels.
- Completes and furnishes required VR documentation appropriately and within deadlines.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
