Location: Prairie City
Position Summary
Blue Mountain Hospital District provides a state‑approved nursing assistant training program. Successful completion of this course will allow you to take the state exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. The program is designed to give you the skills and knowledge needed to pass the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) certification test, laying the foundation to become a compassionate and experienced care provider.
The next cohort begins in August 2026.
- Follow the Nursing Assistant Program Student Code of Conduct, which includes: attendance, punctuality, transportation, communication, honesty, integrity, and professionalism in the clinical and classroom settings.
- Maintain competency‑based curriculum attendance and actively participate in all class and clinical activities. Students may be removed from the program for missing more than two days of class without acceptable reason.
- Show respect to instructors, guest speakers, facility staff, clinical staff, patients, and peers, and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Adhere to safety and infection control practices; report any incidents immediately.
- Respect cell phone use policies: allowed only in the classroom as an educational tool under the instructor’s direction.
- Follow the program’s dress code policy for both classroom and clinical settings.
- Students who have a criminal history or substance abuse issues must disclose and may be subject to probation, background checks, or removal from the program.
- Under no circumstances are students expected to provide a conditional employment offer; however, a conditional offer of employment may be made upon completion of the program and certification requirements.
- Students will work towards a full‑time nurse aide position at Blue Mountain Care Center upon successful completion and certification.
