Eagle Point School District 9 (EPSD9) is seeking a student-centered, collaborative, and visionary Elementary Principal to lead Shady Cove School.
AboutThe Role
The Elementary Principal / District Administrator Duties (0.5 FTE each) provides leadership at both the school and district levels, fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment while supporting district-wide initiatives and strategic priorities.
Elementary Principal responsibilities: supervising and evaluating licensed and classified staff; supporting student achievement, well-being, and attendance; managing building operations, budgets, and resources; and maintaining strong communication and collaborative relationships with staff, families, and community partners. The Principal cultivates a safe, inclusive, and supportive school culture while implementing district goals, policies, and programs.
District Administrator Duties include leading district improvement efforts, supporting strategic planning and implementation, coordinating compliance and reporting requirements, facilitating professional learning opportunities, managing special projects, and collaborating with district and school leaders to advance student achievement and organizational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will lead continuous improvement efforts at both building and district levels, support professional growth and team development, oversee student discipline and behavioral support systems, strengthen partnerships that enhance educational opportunities, and contribute to the overall success of the district through collaborative leadership and innovation.
Who We're Looking ForApplicants must have at least three years of successful teaching experience and hold a valid Oregon Administrative License appropriate for the position.
We are seeking a collaborative and effective leader with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, community partners, and district stakeholders while balancing building-level leadership with district-wide responsibilities.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to instructional excellence, staff development, student support, and continuous improvement. They will be able to communicate a clear vision, manage complex responsibilities effectively, analyze and use data to inform decision-making, and lead with professionalism, integrity, and a focus on student success.
Position DetailsPosition Title: Elementary Principal - Starting School Year
Placement: Shady Cove School, Shady Cove, Oregon
Supervisor: Director or Designee
Contract Days: 220 days per year to begin August 5, 2026
Salary Range: $117,227 - $138,557 per year. Includes additional travel and cell phone stipend. Salary placement will depend on verified full-time experience.
