Elementary Teacher

This position is anticipated to begin August 31, 2026 and end June 22, 2027. Special Education Endorsement required. The Structured Learning Center (SLC) The teacher is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning of the assigned subject(s) following district approved curriculum, instruction and assessment practices. As a special education teacher of a specialized program, employee may teach in an elementary and/or secondary Structured Learning Center
- Academics or Transitional Learning Center
- Behavior. The Structured Learning Center (SLC) classrooms work with students on functional academic skills with approximately a 4:1 student to adult ratio - less than 20 students. Students are supported by visual communication tools, data based support plans, structured routines, and modified curriculum. Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student's readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare.

Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Oregon Teaching License with a Special

Education:

Generalist endorsement.

PLEASE NOTE:

North Clackamas Schools is negotiating the licensed contract for the 26-27 school year. Below is our Annual Salary Range for the 25-26 school year: Annual Salary Range ): $58,788 - $111,463 (193-Day Contract). Initial placement based on education, experience. This salary range reflects 1.0 FTE. Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date. Stipend(s) are pro-rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment.

As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive: A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards). A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD. Retirement Plan Contribution:
North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction.

Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university, and must hold or be able to obtain a valid Oregon Teaching License with a Special Education Generalist endorsement. The teacher must have successful experience working successfully with culturally diverse families and communities, or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.

Successful teaching experience or demonstrated potential to effectively teach in a special education environment and knowledge and skill in applying IDEA requirements and procedures. Possess analytical and diagnostic skill to assess student special needs and translate such needs into an effective instructional plan for the student. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate the individual development plan and to coach and support staff and teacher colleagues so that they may effectively implement their responsibilities under the plan.

Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff verbally and in writing. Commitment to collaboration and teaming and effectiveness in working within a professional learning community. Skill in classroom management and ability to achieve, support, and maintain acceptable student behavior through highly structured classroom environments infused with positive behavioral supports. Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate and multiple assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques.
