Mid/High School Classroom Teacher

The job of "Teacher - Classroom (High School 9th – 12th)" is done for the purpose of developing students' academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

• BA/BS or higher degree (required) with a major in one or more of the following areas:
  Curriculum Secondary Education, MIDLVL-Multi-Subject, Content Area (Math, Advanced Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Economics, Geography, Biology, Physics, Reading, or similar).
• Valid Oregon Teaching License and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Oregon; and displays a willingness to teach any qualified subject area.
• Must hold a current recognized first aid card or be willing to obtain same if directed by the district under ORS 342.664 (2).
• Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds, direct support personnel, evaluate performance.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code, appropriate instructional subjects.

• Valid Oregon Teaching License – In Subject Area
• Endorsed in areas of assigned teaching: 9th – 12th in Reading, Math, Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, or Music
• Holds and maintains an appropriate license and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Oregon; and displays a willingness to teach any qualified subject area.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
• Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability
• Successfully pass district background screening

• Develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
• Model personal behaviors of honesty, fairness, courtesy consideration, respect, and cultural awareness and responsibility.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship with administration, staff, students and parents.
