Sign Language Interpreter in White City, OR

Make a meaningful impact in education by supporting students as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter working with K-12 learners. If you have a passion for facilitating clear communication and access for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students, this full-time, onsite opportunity for the entire  school year offers the chance to grow professionally while making a difference every day.

Youll collaborate with a dedicated educational team to ensure equitable learning experiences across multiple school locations. Four talented interpreters are needed to help serve vibrant school communities throughout the region.

• Current Oregon Sign Language Interpreter certification/licensure (required)
• Experience in educational settings, ideally working with K-12 students
• Strong expressive and receptive sign language skills
• Ability to adapt interpreting style to the setting and student needs
• Professionalism, punctuality, and collaboration with staff and families
• Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation for students in classrooms and other school activities
• Support student understanding and participation in instructional content
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to identify students communication needs
• Adapt interpretation methods for diverse educational environments and lesson plans
• Uphold school policies and maintain professional boundaries at all times
• Serve as a language model when appropriate to foster student learning

• Work in-person throughout the academic year, from August 24, 2026, to June 11, 2027
• Contribute to the success of students with varied learning needs across multiple grade levels
• Build ongoing relationships with educators, families, and students in a dynamic environment
• Develop valuable skills in educational interpreting in a collaborative, supportive setting
