The person in this position assists in the development and instruction of children enrolled in the Preschool Promise Program. The position also assists in planning and organizing activities to meet the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of students. The person in this position provides a nurturing and safe environment for children enrolled in the program. Preschool Promise program staff must attend and participate in state approved professional development and technical assistance activities as deemed necessary and appropriate by the ELD.

Staff will engage in ongoing professional learning experiences that include collaborative, job-embedded strategies, such as coaching, mentoring, and peer learning groups to develop professional competencies, strengthen program quality, and improve child outcomes. A minimum of 20 hours of professional development is required. This position isgrant-funded.

Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks and other related duties as assigned.

• Demonstrates regular and acceptable attendance and punctuality, as set forth in Board policy.
• Assists in the planning, implementing and developing learning experiences for students.
• Observing students and assisting in recording student development and progress; informing supervisor of any unusual academic or disciplinary problems.
