Overview: The Classified Substitute position is an on‑call, as needed role to fill in for classified employees who are absent for various reasons. This position involves working in different assignments and school locations, requiring flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

- Entitled to sick leave as prescribed by OR State Law.
- Possess a strong understanding of the needs of students and the ability to work effectively with them.
- Eligible for lawful employment in the United States.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with changing circumstances.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students and colleagues.
- Valid First Aid and CPR card, Oregon Food Handler's Card or other required certifications.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 18 years of age or older.
- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Pay rate varies on substitute position.
- Classified sub wages are paid at Step 1 on the salary schedule for the position worked. (see page 40)
