Job Overview
This entry‑level Wind Technician I will join the EDPR NA wind‑farm team to support on‑site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of wind turbine equipment. Responsibilities include operating and troubleshooting wind turbines, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and documenting all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain wind turbines and associated wind‑plant equipment, including substation and tower switch gear.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities for processes and procedures.
- Detect safety gaps and risks, recommend mitigation, and report to technical staff and management.
- Demonstrate integrity, initiative, and teamwork.
- Adhere to environmental health and safety programs, acting as a safety role model.
- Coordinate with EDPR’s Remote Operations Control Center as needed.
- Complete all required training within the specified timeframe.
- Participate in on‑the‑job training with on‑site personnel.
- Document all work using computer‑based service reporting procedures.
- Follow internal controls in effect.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Work SiteOnsite – Rattlesnake Road Wind Farm, Arlington, OR
Minimum Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent; technical‑school education preferred.
- Strong mechanical background, especially in gearing.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in wind energy or a related industry (preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft products and related software.
- Experience with power‑plant operations, maintenance, high‑voltage switching, and turbine repair (preferred).
- Knowledge of maintenance and electronic testing equipment, as well as heavy‑equipment operation (preferred).
- Familiarity with SQL Server, facility‑management software, and computerized diagnostics (preferred).
- Willingness to pass a background investigation and drug test.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

- Basic computer operation skills and ability to interpret and generate data.
- Read, interpret, and understand drawings and schematics.
- Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching approximately 75% of the time on wind‐farm sites; sit or stand for 8+ hours in an office.
- Walking: Walk 0.25–0.5 miles per day on rough, unpaved surfaces.
- Speech/Reading: Speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver instructions verbally, diagrammatically, or in written form.
- Lifting: Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Climbing: Climb turbine towers over 100 meters to access work area.
- Weight between 125–275 lbs. (excluding equipment) to comply with ANSI Fall Protection Standards.
- Vision/Hearing: Interpret and follow instruction in various formats.
- Tolerance to Extreme Weather
Conditions:
Work in adverse weather 25% of the time on wind‑farm sites. - Safety: Understand and communicate safety precautions, as needed.
