PCT - Pacific Cast Technologies is seeking an Industrial Automation Engineer to design, implement, and support automated systems in a precision casting environment. You will program and integrate PLCs, robots, sensors, and motion controls to improve quality, throughput, and safety. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment issues, leading root-cause analysis, optimizing production processes, and supporting new equipment installations. You'll collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to drive continuous improvement and standardization while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and aerospace manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and integrate PLC, HMI, robotic, and motion control systems for casting and machining operations
- Troubleshoot automation, controls, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime
- Analyze production data and implement process improvements for quality, throughput, and safety
- Lead or support installation, commissioning, and validation of new automated equipment
- Develop and maintain electrical/controls documentation, standards, and best practices
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations on root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and aerospace/industrial manufacturing standards
- Train maintenance and production personnel on operation and basic troubleshooting of automated systems
Required Skills
- PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley)
- HMI/SCADA configuration and support
- Industrial robotics integration and programming
- Motion control and servo systems
- Industrial networking (Ether
- Net/IP, Profinet, etc.)
- Electrical and controls schematic reading/design
- Instrumentation and sensor integration
- Root-cause analysis and continuous improvement
