Starting Wage Range: $22.36/hr.

- $29.00/hr.

Job Summary:

Contributes to the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission’s (Gaming Commission) mission of developing and enforcing rules, regulations, standards, ordinances and policies affecting gaming operations for the protection of the Tribe and gaming public, thereby maintaining honesty, fairness, integrity and security of the gaming operation.

Essential Functions
  • Greets visitors, determines the nature of their business and directs inquiries to appropriate staff or destination.
  • Represents the Gaming Commission in a professional manner while communicating telephonically, in writing, or in person. Works cooperatively and effectively with individuals possessing a confrontational attitude.
  • Answers general questions about gaming license applications and the licensing process. Makes copies of applicant materials and checks Oregon Driver’s License for current address.
  • Obtains photos of new applicants and current licensees for the production of license cards and identification badges.
  • Processes all Spirit Mountain Casino payroll changes notifications (PCNs) to update files and database.
  • Scans and uploads documents into the Pryme system.
  • Generate all badges for new hires, transfers and other employment status changes for Spirit Mountain Casino employees.
  • Generate all license cards for new hires and renewed gaming licenses.
  • Distributes casino badges and gaming license cards. Responsible for follow-up with the Casino departments via correspondence on applicant’s who have not met the deadline for badge/license pickup. Answers common questions about the badge-making process and badge replacement policy.
  • Notifies Spirit Mountain Casino’s door access personnel of employment status changes and photo updates.
  • Updates applicant’s information into the database as needed.
  • Assists applicants in navigating the Pryme system for applicants to create an account, to submit address changes, police contact forms or general access.
  • Assists Gaming Commission staff with clerical support and special projects as directed.
  • Creates office closure signs and ensures they are posted for public notification.
  • Provides backup support to staff as needed.
  • Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Licenses
  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience and/or training.
  • OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Driving Requirements
  • Employees may be required to drive for work-related purposes and must maintain a valid Oregon Driver’s License (ODL), meet company vehicle insurance requirements, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.
Qualifications and Certifications
  • Knowledge of gaming regulations preferred.
  • Ability to work and complete tasks independently required.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists required.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents, intelligence information, technical procedures and governmental regulations required.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence required.
  • Ability to make effective presentations and respond to questions from managers, employees and the general public required.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of basic mathematic principles involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with the ability to interpret charts and graphs. Ability to apply these concepts to practical situations required.
  • Skills in use of computer equipment, standard software and specialized investigative software required.
  • Knowledge of accurate alphabetical filing required.
