Staff Accountant
Reports To: Director of Finance
Location: Redmond, Oregon
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions-including A/P, A/R, inventory, accruals, and month-end close-to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The role supports internal controls and audit compliance while providing ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis. This is an individual contributor role with no supervisory duties.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily activities including all A/P and A/R processing, account reviews, and discrepancy resolution to ensure all transactions are documented and accurate.
- Maintain and update monthly accrual and prepaid schedules; post related journal entries to ensure expenses are recognized in the correct reporting periods.
- Reconcile inventory accounts and validate costing in coordination with operational departments to ensure accurate valuation.
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for internal/external audits and ensure ongoing adherence to standard accounting policies.
- Prepare monthly financial review presentations, sales forecasting, and support the annual budgeting process.
- Partner with internal operations and customer service teams to validate data, resolve accounting issues, and maintain process alignment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 3+ years of experience in general accounting, business analytics, or consulting.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office; operational knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience in a physical goods or production-based environment is preferred; general understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control principles.
- Self-starter capable of working independently on multiple projects; strong analytical and problem-solving skills within a team environment.
