Laboratory Assistant at Providence Medford Medical Center, Medford, OR Per Diem/Variable Shift

• The Asst‑Lab 2 is responsible for the accurate and timely receiving, processing, and labeling of laboratory specimens.
• Appropriate handling and/or disbursement of laboratory data and patient results.
• Support personnel work with acute‑care and outpatient caregivers, vendors, consultants, and other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duty.

• 2 years of healthcare or related field experience, or a combination of applicable experience and education.
• Clerical or client services experience.
• Experience with State and Federal regulatory compliance, including Medicare Secondary Payor (MSP), EMTALA, ABN, and HIPAA.

• Coursework or training: 2 years of college biology, anatomy, and medical terminology; or an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related fields.
• Certification from a Clinical Laboratory Assistant or phlebotomy program with 1 year of phlebotomy‑related experience, or 3 years of related experience.
• Certification from an approved government agency or nationally recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, NCA) upon hire.
• Industry‑related experience in a high‑volume, acute‑care setting.
• Job experience in specimen collection, specimen preparation, equipment operation, pneumatic tube systems, and other laboratory equipment.

$20 – $30.17 per hour (base pay range; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities).
