Salary Range: $72.00 - $91.31 Hourly
As the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) of our Mill City retail pharmacy location, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and health of the patients we serve by blending rigorous regulatory oversight with high-level clinical expertise. You will lead safe, patient-centered medication management and ensure full compliance with Oregon Board of Pharmacy and DEA standards. As the PIC you will apply advanced clinical judgment to evaluate therapy appropriateness, dosing, contraindications, and interactions for complex patients, partnering with the care team to optimize outcomes.
Oversee inventory and support pharmacy technicians to sustain a reliable, high-performing distribution process.
- Ethically and lawfully execute and complete Registered Pharmacist duties described in the Hospital Pharmacy Manual and duties mandated by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy.
- Ensure that all pharmaceutical preparations to be dispensed in the Hospital are dispensed accurately, efficiently, and under all controls required by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Accurately process Hospital patient medication orders and review such orders for potential interactions and for appropriateness of therapy, dose, route, and duration.
- Monitor ongoing patient medication appropriateness, and offer appropriate recommendations for modification of such medication, based on patient parameters that include age, renal and hepatic function, serum medication levels, and other pharmacokinetic factors.
- Ensure proper and effective Department medication and equipment supply and ensure that such supply meets anticipated Hospital patient need.
- Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and assume responsibility for accurate and timely Pharmacy Technician distribution of medication.
- Perform other duties assigned by Pharmacy Director.
- Maintain educational requirements for all required licensure and certification.
- Attend professional conventions and in-services on current pharmacy topics.
- Annually demonstrate competence in Department equipment operation.
- Knowledge of principles that relate to the position.
- Aptitude in verbal and written communication, including ability to communicate with persons in all age groups.
- Possession of a degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
- Possession of current Pharmacist licensure by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy.
- Possession of United States proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States.
- Possession of a driver license or analogous identification.
- Willingness to participate in Hospital orientation and educational in-service.
