The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for providing leadership and establishing strategic direction for ancillary and support services departments of Lake District Hospital as assigned. The COO is accountable for ensuring high-quality, customer-focused, cost-effective services within the areas of responsibility designated by the Administrator – Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The COO is involved in identifying new business lines and services to increase revenues and in pursuing new innovative possibilities which enhance patient focus and respond to community needs.

In addition, the COO attends Board of Directors, Medical Staff, and administrative and departmental meetings with the CEO. The COO is responsible for the hospital in the absence of the CEO.

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in health care administration and/or MBA.

• Minimum of three (3) years in administration with an acute hospital.
• Extensive hands‑on experience in computer applications and technology.

• Ability to analyze managed care contracts.
• Ability to supervise key department staff, work to implement as a team, following the broad goals of the mission statement of the hospital.
• Ability to work independently under the policies established by the board of directors and general direction of the CEO.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
• Successful completion of 500‑hour probationary period.
• Criminal background check and pre‑employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer.

If currently on active-duty you must submit a certification of expected discharge or release from active‑duy service under honorable conditions not later than 120 days after the date the certification is submitted.
