The Speech-Language pathologist provides comprehensive speech, language, and pragmatic services to students.
This involves conducting assessments, developing IEPs, providing therapy, and collaboration with families and staff to improve student outcomes in compliance with state and federal regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS- Master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent
- Valid Oregon Board of Examiners Speech-Language Pathology certification or TSPC license with Speech Impaired Endorsement
- Proficient in task prioritization, time management, resource allocation, and organization with strong attention to detail
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Strong written/oral communication, technological competence, and ability to produce concise professional documents
- Knowledge of and adherence to Standards for Competent and Ethical Performance of Oregon Educators
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Assessment and evaluation of students for special education eligibility and intervention strategies.
- Preparation and presentation of comprehensive evaluation reports.
- Collaboration with parents, school staff and outside consultants on speech, language, and pragmatic interventions.
- Provide speech, language, and pragmatic services as outlined in IEPs.
- Provide training, regular observation, and feedback regarding communication instruction delivery.
- Facilitate meetings, problem solve, and manage caseloads efficiently.
- Maintain thorough ongoing records/documentation for individual students receiving therapy or other school provided speech services and prepare pertinent reports.
- Develop and maintain systems to record, monitor, and interpret student progress.
- Teach alternative communication modes and use assistive technology communication strategies/devices used with students who have significant mental and physical disabilities.
- Assist in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community, as necessary.
- Knowledge of state and federal special education law and regulations sufficient to ensure legal compliance.

For reference, information provided is based on the Negotiated Agreement between Tillamook School District #9 and Tillamook Education Association.
- Estimated start date – August 2026
- 1.0 FTE – 190-day contract (191-day for staff new to the district)
- 2026/27 Salary Schedule - to be determined.
- 2025/26 school year base salary $55,139 - $100,047 dependent on years of experience and education level.
- $30/month fee for full family insurance (medical, dental, vision)
- $140/month contributed to HRA VEBA to help offset out of pocket medical expenses.
- Total insurance benefit package of over $22,500 annually
- $500/month cash stipend if you have other insurance and waive district insurance
- District paid employee contribution to PERS (Public Employees Retirement System)
- TSD9 covers the full 6% for PERS retirement
- 403 (b) Supplemental Retirement Saving Opportunities
