Job Description

Apply for a position as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician with a hospital in Eastern (rural) Oregon!

Position Overview: The Generalist Medical Technologist/MLT will perform a wide range of laboratory tests across various disciplines, including clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and interpret a variety of laboratory tests, including those in clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and proper functioning.
  • Follow established procedures and protocols to ensure accurate test results and maintain quality control.
  • Collect and process patient specimens according to laboratory standards.
  • Analyze test results and prepare reports for review by physicians or other healthcare professionals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, infection control protocols, and quality assurance practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of laboratory activities and results.
  • Provide support and guidance to other laboratory staff as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Associate's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or (MLT) by [relevant certifying body, e.g., ASCP, AMT] is required.
  • 1 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
