Health Unit Coordinator

The Health Unit Coordinator role will provide the first point of contact for visitors, answer and direct phone calls, manage mail and correspondence. They will act as CNA and assist residents with activities or daily living, provide personal care, comfort and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for residents under the direction of an RN or LPN/LVN, as needed.

Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Work directly with and report to the Administrator regarding all Care Center endeavors.
  • Answer in-coming telephone calls and manage telephone traffic.
  • Great all incoming visitors and maintain a logbook of incoming and exiting visitor and Residents
  • Work with potential residents and families to conduct tours.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying and faxing.
  • Monitor and order office supplies
  • Serve as a point-of-contact for resident-related concerns, inquiries and projects with a focus on resident satisfaction, experience and enrichment as assigned by the Administrator.
  • Assist administrative team to ensure policies and procedures are complete and accurate; serve as the record-keeper for document management of policies and procedures.
  • Understand and apply local, state and federal laws and regulations, as applied to residential care and long-term care facilities.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, CMS, National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs), HIPPA and continued readiness related to healthcare or BMHD standards.
  • Provides direct Resident Care within the certified nursing assistant's scope of practice.
  • Perform CNA duties and responsibilities in the absence of CNA–Lead or cover for occasional vacancies due to CNA absences or staffing deficiencies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times by adhering to the federal HIPAA regulations.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Education, Experience & Certification/Licensure

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of related work experience.
  • Active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant Licensure through the Oregon State Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred:

  • Working experience in Long Term Care, Assisted Living, Private In-Home Care or Rehab Facility.
  • Working experience in a receptionist or front desk role.

Min – $20/hour
