Overview
On Call Mental Health Associate - Lane County
We are looking to hire an On Call Mental Health Associate at our programs in the Lane County area, including Eugene, Springfield, and Junction City, Oregon. These positions work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
Responsibilities- Support the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions
- Perform housekeeping and meal preparation
- Administer medication and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in crisis de-escalation training and apply related techniques as required
- Personal Care Associate: Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) preferred; a dedication to the well-being of each client and helping them meet activities of daily living (ADL).
- Residential Associate: Must be eligible for Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) registration. Eligibility requires one of the following: a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science or related field; or a minimum of three years of verifiable behavioral health experience in a supervised setting; or an equivalent combination of behavioral science education and relevant experience.
If not already registered as a QMHA through MHACBO, we will assist with registration within 30 days of hire.
Driving is an essential function of this position. Successful applicants must provide a valid driver’s license, maintain a safe driving record, and be able to pass a DHS criminal background check.
Physical requirements include the ability to talk, listen, use hands, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift/carry/push/pull up to 40 pounds. Crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings are required. Reasonable accommodations are available.
Work Schedule and CompensationWork days/hours will vary and may include holidays, weekends, and night shifts.
What You’ll Make: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour DOE/Credentials. An additional $2.50 per hour night shift differential applies during hours 10:00 pm – 6:00 am. An additional 5% language differential is offered for bilingual or multilingual candidates (Spanish/English desired).
Vocational Training ProgramOptional program to accelerate QMHA certification: employees may register with MHACBO as QMHA-R and work toward the 1000 hours required for QMHA-I certification. The program offers on-the-job training and testing preparation and can be completed in as little as 6 months.
