Behavioral Health Specialist 2 – Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
Location: Burns, Oregon – Eastern Oregon Youth Correctional Facility

Responsibilities- Provide counseling and guidance services to adolescents in a group living environment.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, PMHNPs, psychologists, Living Unit Manager and Case Coordinator to design and maintain a supportive treatment environment.
- Implement evidence‑based interventions and supervise individual, family, and group therapy in accordance with scope of practice.
- Assess and document mental health status, develop treatment plans, and conduct psych evaluations.
- Promote growth, responsibility, healthy habits, and positive behavior for youth.
- Enforce rules, restrain youth during crisis situations, and manage potential violence or hostage scenarios as required.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain licensure.
- Graduate degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health science, recreational/art/music therapy, or licensed bachelor’s degree in nursing or occupational therapy (by Oregon State).
- For bachelor’s degree holders: licensing in Oregon and at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience related to series concept.
- For master’s degree holders: at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience related to series concept.
- All candidates must be a Qualified Mental Health Professional at time of application.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Commitment to reliable transportation as needed.
- Familiarity with drug, alcohol, and sexually harming behavior treatment.
- Experience facilitating treatment groups.
- Experience working with clients in crisis.
- Strong client documentation experience.
- Competitive salary within $6,420.00–$8,967.00 range.
