Medical Assistant
Combination posting for Medical Assistant (MA) II, MA I and Associate Medical Assistant. Qualifications for each role are listed below and candidates who meet any of the qualifications are encouraged to apply.
A Medical Assistant II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to assist in patient care to assigned patients. The MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic/location of work. Duties are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
A Medical Assistant I works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients, meeting basic patient care needs through both administrative and clinical duties. Duties are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Resource/FLOATFloat pool of Medical Assistants serving Providence Medical Group clinics in the Portland Metro area (Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington and Yamhill counties). Patients in Primary Care, Pediatrics, and Specialty Care are served. Full- and part‑time availability. Variety is included in the float pool.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands‑on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants
- Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
- Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
- Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
- On hire:
National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association - 6 months healthcare experience
- 6 months medical assistant experience
- On hire:
National Medical Assistant Certification
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands‑on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants
- Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
- Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
- Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
- On hire:
National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association - Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months)
- 6 months of prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast‑paced environment
- 6 months of previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Minimum: $23.27, Maximum: $35.60
Salary Range (Associate Medical Assistant)Minimum: $21.33, Maximum: $31.98
