Position: Caregiver - Avamere of Sherwood
Location: Sherwood

Caregiver Memory Care Shift/Schedule

  • FT:
    Swing shift (2-10pm), Sunday-Thursday
  • PT:
    Swing shift (2-10pm), Sunday, Tuesday-Wednesday
  • PT:
    Day shift (6am-2pm), Friday-Sunday
Assisted Living Shift/Schedule
  • Type:
    Part-Time/On-Call (PRN)

    On-Call, All shifts available, Weekend availability needed

Wage: $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Location: Avamere at Sherwood - 16500 Century Drive, Sherwood, OR 97140

Essential Duties And

Job Responsibilities
  • Personal Hygiene:
    Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Mobility Assistance:
    Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
  • Meal Preparation:
    Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms
Emotional Support and Companionship
  • Providing Emotional Support:
    Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
  • Companionship:
    Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.
Housekeeping
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.
Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy
  • Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.
Other
  • Answer resident calls for assistance timely
  • Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor
  • Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
  • Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
  • A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors
  • Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment
