Entry and Experienced Firefighter
Our mission is to protect life and property through community engagement and emergency response services. Our firefighters deliver this mission daily through educating the community, suppression of fires, pre-hospital EMS, and Technical Rescue response. We strive to achieve the highest standard of response and customer service to our communities.

- Fire District 3:
Central Point, White City, Eagle Point, Gold Hill, Agate Lake, Dodge Bridge and Sams Valley - Fire District 4:
Shady Cove, Trail and the Upper Rogue Communities - Fire District 5:
Phoenix, Talent and unincorporated areas of Ashland

Assessment timeline:
- Physical Agility Test (PAT) Practice Day Monday 10/19 - 9:00 a.m.
- 12:00 p.m. - PAT: 10/20, 10/21
- Panel Interviews: 10/20-22
- Practical Skills Scenario: 10/20-22
- Chiefs Interview: TBD

Applications will be evaluated to confirm the following minimum requirements and qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years old and GED or HS diploma
- NFPA FF 1 or equivalent by time of hire
- Valid Drivers License
- Certified as OR or Nat'l Reg. EMT in good standing at time of application
Applications will be scored to evaluate skills, certifications and experience.
Each District will assess qualified candidates and consider tenure, professional experience, and training and skills backgrounds in the selection and job offer process.
Application Requirements:
- Complete the Jackson County Fire District 3 FireTEAM NTN test with a score of 70% or better.
- Complete the District online application – resumes are not required.

- Upload a current Oregon or National Registry EMT license at the time of application – certificates will not satisfy this requirement.
- Upload a current NFPA FF I at time of application or be prepared to submit it before February 2027.
- DPSST transcript – DO NOT UPLOAD all other certifications.
