Role Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides patient treatment, exercise instruction, and education to enhance well-being under supervision. Responsibilities include following state laws, adhering to the plan of care, instructing patients in exercises and functional activities, observing and reporting patient responses, and collaborating with healthcare team members. The role involves developing treatment plans, participating in staff meetings, and maintaining compliance with practice standards.

• Current licensure or certification to assist in physical therapy practice in the specified state.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, or access to public transit.
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

• Perform treatments within scope of training, report patient progress, and make recommendations for care adjustments.
• Instruct patients and caregivers in exercises, transfers, safety, and prosthetic use.
• Complete visit notes, participate in treatment planning, and attend team meetings.
• Adhere to professional standards and all policies.
