Provides evaluation, treatment, and management of acute and chronic phases of illness in patients at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; management includes assessment of physical symptoms, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. Provides continued care throughout the patient's medical journey. Educates and mentors Advanced Practice Provider I and additional clinical staff including, nursing, residents, fellows, and other healthcare interns and students.
Characteristic of the position is the short, unscheduled notice associated with reporting for duty, the variable nature of the hours worked per payroll period and temporary nature of appointments to this title and the fact that this is a non-benefit earning title. The starting pay for this position is $76.07 hourly which includes a geographic differential. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role.

Required Education and Experience
Nurse PractitionerAs a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Medicare within nine (9) months of their appointment to this title as required by Medicare.
AND The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time progressively responsible Advanced Practice Provider experience in a service line at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or at a cancer care or acute care facility recognized as comparable by Roswell Park.
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
The preferred candidate will have Acute Care Certification.
