About the Role

Southwoods Health is seeking a versatile and detailed Business Office Generalist to support operations at our main office in Boardman. In this role, you will perform essential revenue cycle duties across multiple departments—including scheduling, patient registration, and charge entry. The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and a professional demeanor at all times.

  • Data & Demographics Entry: Accurately input patient demographic and proper insurance details into the EHR/EMR network through established scheduling and registration routines.
  • Data Security: Ensure all patient records and personal profiles are entered securely to strictly protect Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Charge Posting: Analyze, process, and post accurate medical billing charges into the respective system in a timely manner.
  • Record Management: Retrieve, sort, and organize incoming medical charts, provider charge sheets, and documentation sent directly to the Business Office.
  • Reconciliation Support: Assist in matching and reconciling hospital and nursing home (NH) rounding logs routing into the corporate billing office.
  • Interdepartmental

    Collaboration:

    Pull necessary documentation across various software platforms to help different departments complete and process insurance claims.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict compliance across assigned physician practices with all governing medical agencies (including OSHA, ODH, BOP, and TJC). Perform other operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of medical office administrative processes (scheduling, registration, and basic medical billing flows).
  • Proficient with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems and digital documentation retrieval.
  • Solid computer literacy, data entry skills, and experience managing sensitive information under HIPAA/PHI guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance workflows for multiple healthcare departments.
