Location: Portland

Description We are looking for a dependable Payroll/HR Clerk to join a team in Tigard, Oregon in a Long-term Contract position. This part-time, fully onsite opportunity is well suited for someone who can balance payroll, employee support, benefits coordination, and basic accounting tasks in a small business setting. The role calls for strong discretion, careful recordkeeping, and the ability to stay organized around recurring weekly and semi-monthly deadlines.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain employee records in the HR and payroll system, including setting up new hires and updating status changes.

- Coordinate the full employee lifecycle by supporting onboarding, separations, and related documentation.

- Run semi-monthly payroll for a workforce of about 30 employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

- Update system records for internship placements and departures as staffing changes occur.

- Review and process employee expense submissions each week, with regular attention to Thursday deadlines.

- Assemble weekly payment batches and prepare items for timely review and release.

- Respond to benefits-related questions and assist with administrative changes tied to employee events and coverage updates.

- Perform basic accounting support, including bank reconciliations in Net Suite and review of benefits and prepaid account balances. Requirements

- Prior experience managing payroll in a small company environment.

- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential employee and compensation information with discretion.

- Background supporting HR administration, including new employee setup, offboarding, and benefits coordination.

- Experience working through recurring payroll, expense, and payment deadlines with strong accuracy.

- Familiarity with Paylocity (or similar platform) for payroll and HR record maintenance.

- Understanding of full-cycle payroll processes, including items such as garnishments when applicable.
